Automatic Decapper for 3/5-Gallon Returnable Bottles
Fast, stable cap removal before bottle washing, with bottle-mouth protection and cap-detection control.
The 4R Automatic Decapper removes old caps from returnable 3/5-gallon bottles before the washing system. It is a compact auxiliary machine, but it plays an important role in line stability: caps are removed quickly, the bottle mouth is protected, and uncapped or unsuccessfully decapped bottles are handled automatically.
Remove old caps before the bottle enters the washing system.
In a returnable 3/5-gallon bottled water line, used bottles normally enter the plant with old caps still attached. These caps must be removed before external washing, internal washing, disinfection, and refilling.
Manual decapping is slow and inconsistent. If a capped bottle enters the washing section, it can interrupt the washing process and reduce line stability. The 4R Automatic Decapper replaces manual cap removal with a controlled mechanical decapping action.
Line position
The decapper is normally installed before the bottle washing section, after bottle infeed and before the main cleaning process.
Fast Cap Removal
Designed for continuous automatic operation, the machine removes caps quickly and keeps pace with the returnable bottle washing line.
No Bottle-Mouth Damage
The decapping mechanism is designed to remove the cap while protecting the bottle mouth, neck finish, and sealing area.
Stable Operation
Reliable mechanical action and detection logic help reduce missed decapping, unnecessary stoppage, and unstable bottle handling.
Cap detection before and after decapping keeps the line stable.
The decapper is equipped with cap detection at bottle infeed and bottle outfeed. The machine acts only when a cap is present, and bottles that are still capped after decapping are rejected from the production line.
If no cap is detected at the infeed, the decapping mechanism does not act. If decapping fails and the bottle still has a cap at outfeed, the bottle is pushed out of the production line before it reaches the washing system.
Simple machine, important protection.
Cap-present detection at infeed
The machine checks whether the bottle has a cap before decapping. If there is no cap, the decapping action is skipped.
Outfeed cap detection
After decapping, the system checks whether the cap has been removed successfully.
Failed decapping rejection
Bottles that still have caps after the decapping station are rejected from the production line.
Washing-line protection
By preventing capped bottles from entering the washer, the decapper helps protect downstream cleaning stability.
